VIZIO Smart TV Remote
I recently purchased the Vizio M651d-A2R (awesome TV by the way). The only problem was the remote. It looked nice but it you have to aim it right at the IR port on the TV. Plus after a short while the right button on the direction pad started miss firing. This remote doesn't have to be aimed towards the IR port nearly as much. It still has to be aimed at the TV more than other remotes but I'm pretty sure its the TV's fault and besides, its acceptable. Also, the buttons have a much more reassuring click and have more travel. I highly recommend this to anyone who purchased the aforementioned TV. The only button that's missing is the 3D button but you can access the 3D functionality through the menu. Oh and this remote doesn't have a backlight like my original remote did but thats the only real drawback in my opinion and its worth it. (Even though I loved the backlight.) The keyboard on the back of the remote is also awesome when using Netflix and Hulu and etc.
My new Vizio smart tv came with a regular remote, so I immediately checked out a "smart" remote since I do watch a lot of streaming videos, courtesy of Amazon Prime. The keyboard on the back side is sweet, for sure, and makes it easy to communicate with my tv! The price is awesome and certainly worth it. I'm glad I bought it! oh yes, the battery holder is a real trip to open, but right under the numbers on the main side of remote. Just keep trying is all I can say about that.
I have the M501D-A2r. This works with it. My factory remote arrived Dead on arrival in the TV box, and support was being their normal nasty selves. I ordered this to fix the lack of remote while fighting with Vizio over my replacement. Worked from the minute it was pointed at it. Solidly built. Like it better than the factory one for my TV.
This remote makes typing on the tv ten fold easier. if you plan on using the smart apps alot (youtube, facebook, netflix) then this remote control is a must. It makes typing so much faster. I feel like all the new vizio tv's should all come with the remote. that is my only complaint. I have a vizio 39 inch smart tv E390i-A1.
